I have been to New York City several times in my life, but most of them were in the summer, and none of them were at Christmas time. Someday I think I would really like to do that. 13 years ago doesn’t feel all that long ago to me, but then it is a much smaller percentage of my lifetime than it is of either of yours. I will say that I guess for you, at 19 it probably seemed like “finally I have a boyfriend,” even though at 19 I was still desperately trying to be anything but gay, much less to have a boyfriend. And to find that special someone that young sounds amazing to someone like me who never found that special someone. But I’m very glad you did so that I and the rest of those who follow you could share vicariously in the terrific life you have both made for yourselves.
you are the sweetest, Lane. I think I had just wanted it SO badly that it seemed like it took forever to get there, but I suppose in hindsight, 19 years really isn't that long. We've been together now almost as long as I had to wait!
Wow, What a Love story it’s wonderful to know that Love is real, y’all prove it’s possible. Thomas I watched that movie on Netflix NUOVO OLIMPO that you recommended, IT WAS GREAT!!! And yes I did cry a little. I will watch it again to catch what I missed the first time, as you probably know you always miss something.
I actually just booked a trip to NYC for December 13th! It’ll be my first time experiencing Christmas in New York which has been a bucket list item of mine. I snagged a Black Friday deal and got round trip tickets for $40! I’m only going to be there for 14 hrs, so just a day trip. What are some must sees to catch the best Christmas sights? Love your love story! It’s encouraging and heart warming!
Wonderful memories when your young are the best memories to have. But as I look back on my life with the most wonderful man I had they were all wonderful. I hope you both can continue to make them. ❤️❤️. Hugs
oh Clayton! it really is such a blessing and a true privilege to be able to look back on your memories, both good AND bad. it means we're still here. ❤️
Your story made me emotional. I felt young again, reliving that first time of a relationship, floating in a magic state of mind. So nostalgic, in the best way possible, because I remember me being that young with a smile, but I also look around me today and I smile even wider. New York is also very important to my husband and I, and to our relationship. It was the first trip we did together after he moved to Miami so we could be together. It was December 9th 2017, SantaCon so the city filled with people with Santa hats celebrating from bar to bar, we couldn’t believe the energy in the air, it was exhilarating. And suddenly… the first snow of the season… and the first snow in our lives! Fast forward to today, and New York is now home and it has been for a bit more than two years. NYC magic has never disappeared.
My husband of 43 years and I read your newsletter weekly. We want to cook the crockpot dressing for Christmas and I can’t find the recipe ! Help!! Do you have a link
The entire recounting of your story plays like a beautiful movie you would see at the cinema. I loved all of it and am so happy you found each other and your beautiful kids. You all are living the dream. It’s what I hope to have at some point. Love all your postings and wish you all the best in everything you do! Beyond thrilled to be here.💙☺️
aww Dave!!! thank you for taking the time to read. I always wonder if anyone will resonate with what I put out into the world, and it brings me joy to know you liked it :)

I've never been to New York, though my partner (fiance) has been several times with his singing group, to perform for the USO. I'm looking forward to my turn to experience the lively city and try so many different foods!
