First of all, wish Allan “break a leg,“ which I hope you know is what you say to someone rather than saying good luck when they’re in a play. I know he’ll do a great job.
I’m glad you didn’t get the storms that came through Nashville the last couple of days and cost a lot of people (myself included) loss of sleep. One of the unfortunate things about them were that they blew the beautiful petals of my sister‘s cherry tree completely off the trees. If it was possible to put a photo here, I would show you what it looks like, because I got a really beautiful picture of it. There’s something really breathtaking about a cherry tree in full bloom.
Thank you so much Lane! And yes, we made sure to tell Allan to break a leg! He was so excited, and he did amazing. I’m sorry to hear you lost sleep during the storms, and even more so about your sister’s cherry tree. It really is such a fleeting kind of beauty, those blossoms—here one moment and gone the next. I bet that photo you took is stunning. I wish I could see it! Sending a little extra sunshine your way for a restful weekend ahead. 🌸
A quick PS - I liked rereading "Would You Forgive Someone Who Turned Against You When You Came Out?" I was happy, again, to realize your 'coming out' was, overall, as successful as mine. 🌈🌈
I also enjoyed seeing the Washington Post article, again. It's that article that drew my attention to you, your vlogs and your Substack entries. I'm grateful to the WP for having "introduced" me to you and yours!👍👍
Another beautiful Weekend Edit. It's so nice to look forward to reading them - and seeing the added vlog entry for a second time. Relieved you fared well through the most recent storms - your pix attest to a beautiful place to live, regardless of weather. You do have two very warm and special homes! BTW, I managed to catch the first episode of "Mid-Century Modern." I think it might have to grow on me, but I think the concept's worth giving it a continued try. Thanks for the recommendation. Enjoy the rest of the weekend. Hugs to all from NY.🤗 🤗♥️
Ah yes, thank you Lane for the reminder....I hope ALlan had a good experience with the play...theatre has been pretty much my life since finding it in high school. It is a wonderful place to "be"!
Once again, you speak with such fluidity and clear descriptions that it makes one feel present. Yeah, the "one" thing...old English/theatre teacher here lol. If the day should ever come when I actually met you guys, I would not be able to delay a huge hug immediately. Yep, you make the world better just be your existence with your sweet family. Thanks for that and all the rest.
I loved how you described the different feelings and atmosphere in the farm and the townhouse, Thomas. I think it is great that you have both. I live in an apartment in Berlin and have a similar experience when I visit my mother in our house in the countryside.
Omg, me and my fiance got the ninja last week, and we love it too! This week has been very very rough, but the comfort of coffee has helped, and it is way easier to work than my old clunky espresso machine
I have faith in Allan, he is going to be Great. I know your house in town is beautiful and comfortable, but that Farm is Amazing, you and PJ done such a wonderful job, fixing it up. I would never leave it, except to get Groceries and Wine of course which is a Must have. And Spring has Definitely sprung here in E. Texas and it has brought the Storms with it, but we’re used to them, now if they stop long enough to get outside and get some work done.
Thank you so much! He did sooooo good!! And yes—groceries and wine are always worth the trip ;)! Hope the storms give you a break soon so you can enjoy that East Texas spring. Have a great weekend!
I know what your talking about living on the farm out in the country. I live in town now I miss the quiet of the country. When I was a freshman in school, I was in South Pacific where I met a very handsome junior. We loved each other fir over 30 some years. Just saying, you never know.
Congrats to Allan for his role in the play! Wishing all the best with it. And “way to go” to Anna. I bet that was the cutest thing to see. Yes, spring has sprung down here too. The trees are turning green. All other surfaces are turning yellow. 🤧🤧. Your new coffee machine looks very handy. Although, I drink mine black. ☕️.
The chicken coop turned out amazing. PJ and the kids did a fantastic job.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend as well. ♥️🤗
There is nothing quite as wonderful as Spring...when everything comes alive and the brown drab of Winter leaves. Spring has always been my favorite season. By having your beautiful home in town and also the openness of the farm, you truly have the best of both worlds. Each place is so different from the other than when you travel between them, you may feel like you are always taking a needed getaway. I loved seeing the children singing and good luck to Allan in the play. I bet he will be great. Have a wonderful weekend.
You’re so right—spring really does feel like a breath of fresh air after winter. We do feel lucky to have both places, and it does feel like a little getaway each time we switch. Thank you for the kind words about the kids, and we’re cheering Allan on too! Wishing you a beautiful weekend ahead, Sue!! xoxoxo
So many things….. hope Allan enjoys his time performing, and he has fun. The boys are growing so tall. Glad you have comfy Pyjama’s. Loving that you share your thoughts on the difference between country and city time. Loving the chicken coop. Anna’s smile is so precious. Lastly I hope you get to publish all the weekend edits in book one day. Amazing musings, beautiful moments, family story shared in your writings. Thank you for sharing.
Thomas….you do an outstanding job with all your posts. I know PJ does some editing too, and I am always impatient for something new from you. I’ve even watched some of your vlogs two or three times because they’re so entertaining and I see/hear something new every time. Thanks for keeping an “older” gal happy ❤️
We would LOVE a coffee machine like that, but here (Canada), they're $600!! Yikes! We also use the flavorings - Vanilla and Salted Caramel are our favorites!
