As a kid we never got to go to the beach for spring break, always our family farm. It was fun though. My favourite song from Mayhem is Disease. Have a splendid weekend.

I think I’d definitely do a “staycation”, considering the weather down here right now, and plan to visit the beach when the school year ends. I’ve heard that kids are much more likely to try foods they wouldn’t normally if they’re involved in the preparation and cooking, seems like a great reason to give it a try! 💙

I will add Goodrich to my ‘to see’-list. Have not seen White Lotus and as that would mean another streaming service, probably won’t…

I watched ‘Pride’ this week, a lovely movie about the unlikely collaboration of Welsh miners on strike, and LGBT activists in London in the 80s. Loved it, higly recommended.

I’m redoing our spring break next week, as I was ill during our vacation (and still a little bit under the weather). I love to venture out alone, and I really do need it to recharge. So I will be spending to nights in a monastery, for peace and tranquillity and to reset.

Our weekend is quiet. Our eldest daughter moved out this month and her sister is having a sleepover there.

I agree on kids having chores. We did not have a very fixed schedule for them but we did expect them to help out.

I feel as parents it is our task to help children to grow op to kind, empathic and independent adults.

The proof is in the pudding, our daughter is doing quite well (allthough I do receive daily texts to ask about recipes, laundry settings etc)

I would go to the beach, just to get away from the daily grind I guess. But if everything about work needs to go with you, i am not sure. Have a nice break together <3

I love going to the beach when it's cooler than usual — no crowds, great for wine! I even love winter weather at the beach. Exhilarating.

I'm glad you liked Melissa55. Isn't she wonderful? Here's her updated nightly routine!

The thought of going to the beach is enticing, but like you, I would wait for warmer weather when swimming would be an option.

That pasta looks very good and the addition of chicken would send it over the top. I will try it out.

I love those wonderful cabinets. They hold so many possibilities for storage and they are so good looking. I saw where you have temporarily put a similar cabinet in the laundry room at the farm.

Yes, children should do chores that are age appropriate for them. They will feel a great sense of accomplishment after completing each job and it will boost their self confidence.

Bratwursts and s'mores around a campfire sound pretty yummy to me.

Have a great weekend.

Yes, I know it’s cliche, but you continue to feel time move faster as you get older.

I can understand where you are coming from about the weather in the Florida panhandle next week. It’s supposed to be very nice down here in Tampa. We Floridians will miss you.

Those cabinets are gonna be fabulous in your office area. They’re perfect. So much storage! And as a bonus, more stuff out of the big storage building.

The summer camp tour sounds wonderful. What a nice way to finish the day too.

Glad you got to go out with your sister, SIL, and friend. Supports a good cause that I know is close to your heart.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend. Love and hugs. ♥️🤗

Sorry for the late input...the beachgoer in me would vote for the beach but the meteorologist in me says to stay at the farm. The weather is looking gorgeous for your area this week (aside for some rain chances on Thursday). Perfect for the kids to run around and play outside.

Also, is anyone else having issues accessing the "Trunks for Hunks" link? I'm looking to upgrade my swimwear this year :-)

All the updates you take the time and effort to keep us involved are much appreciated. Thanks so much for them! 😊

That wall cabinet looks like a perfect organizational "tool" for an office and its color is lovely, too. Did it come like that or did you refinish it as some point?

You gotta love PJ and his unrelenting involvement with daily health and self-care routines - not to mention your own. I wish I had the will power to keep on top of it all!

I thought the pasta recipe seemed delicious when you first made it, but adding the chicken seems like the perfect bonus. I've collected a few skillet pasta dishes over the years and virtually all of them have chicken incorporated. I'll certainly add this to the list. Each is a delicious hearty dinner dish for family and worthy of guests, as well.

Finally - what a great pic for such a great cause. I love the enthusiasm so many of your friends and family have for helping others. It's wonderful to see.

Well-wishes for your weekend. Hugs home to all! 🤗♥️

I agree, just last week I was in my 20’s haha, time flys by so fast!! When we were young in Florida we picked Peas for .50 cents a bushel to make extra money to go to the movies, of course you could go to the movies and get popcorn and a drink for about one or two dollars ( can’t remember exactly it was too long ago) we got .50 cents a week allowance and we were Rich haha. That was about 65 years ago. Everything has changed So much. I’m so glad that the Kiddos have chores it’s so good for them especially since y’all give them so much. You will have all Summer to go to the beach, so you might as well wait till it’s beautiful weather!! Enjoy your Weekend, sending you Love and Hugs!!

I think that it’s important for the kiddos to learn responsibility. My parents had me doing yard work and chores for as long as I can remember
