Books you can read to channel You've Got Mail, a spooky new podcast about AI, and why we're going to be "quietly" celebrating our kids' birthdays from now on
The kids basketball calculus makes my brain hurt. You’re amazing, and so are they! Love the quiet birthdays, it will make those milestone ones that much sweeter!! (I’m not crying, you’re crying)
AI!!! I was talking with my cousins (in journalism world), and it’s just so wild to think how pervasive it is and ethically what role it should play- especially in art!
Taking a break from hanging the inside Christmas lights ATM and maybe needing the you’ve got mail vibes later.
Thank you, Kathleen! The future of AI honestly scares me a lot. It's very cool and new and fun right now, but I fear it will only get worse! Have a great weekend!!!
Hi both, I loved the blog tonight, sitting in my living room reading it and listening to the rain on the window, really cozy. I loved the film you've got mail, I agree full autumn vibes. We love autumn, my youngest still kicks leaves at nearly 29! I must admit I'm often tempted too!
You must be so proud of the kids, and being a tag team is the only way, sending you both lots of hugs and love to you all, Julie xx
Wow! The figuring involved with 3 kids and 2 parents, I wonder how others handle any more!
I love the quiet birthday idea. I think it allows for kids to learn the importance of quality time with family and meaningfulness.
We’ve also started decorating for Christmas.
Taking out the tree and ornaments we decided to keep in the closet, instead of the attic last year, led to a whole closet clean out/reorganization though-UGH 😒
🤣🤣– a veritable whirlwind of pick-ups and drop offs, indeed! May the gods bless you all!
I’m just getting our Thanksgiving décor unpacked and ready to set into place.🦃 🥧 Christmas at our place will be towards December 1 - but nevertheless, thanks to others, the Holiday excitement grows.🎄🧑🎄
I think it’s nice to have those intimate birthday celebrations you describe. I believe it makes those more noteworthy years a bit more special, too. 🎂 🎈
I also enjoyed Guillermo del Toro’s interpretation of Shelly’s novel. I found it quite moving and especially loved the memories presented from both characters’ points of view. If you haven't yet, watch the supplemental "behind the scenes" for even more insight into del Toro’s process. 👍👍
Until our next ‘visit’….be happy, well and safe! ♥️🤗🌈
I can't imagine the schedule juggling that's needed with your family. It is good that you have family nearby.
I was excited to decorate for Christmas until I went downstairs to the basement. It needs decluttered and culled. But the worst part is that my knees can't take the up and down of bringing out the Christmas stuff. I may have to call my handiperson. They checked in with me a few days ago about whether I needed help with anything. Need to go ahead and get them to help.
Lovely as always, friends.

Enjoy your decorating this weekend. Full holiday immersion. 🎄🎅🏻🎅🏻
I’ll probably do a little more myself.
