PJ's Fitness Journey Update: From Lean to Muscle Gain
Before and after photos of my two-year body transformation, and why I work out
A Quick Disclaimer:
I want to start by acknowledging that this post involves discussions about weight, body fat, and fitness progress. I know these topics can be triggering for some, especially given my family history with eating disorders. I want to emphasize that this is my personal journey and not a comparison. We all have different bodies and experiences, so please take what resonates and leave what doesn’t. My body is naturally lean; both of my parents are lean, and gaining muscle has always been a challenge for me. This journey is about what works for me, and I’m sharing it (along with progress photos) simply to check in with myself and track my progress.
A Little Background: Why I Work Out
For me, working out has always been more than just the physical. Yes, I love seeing changes in my body, but for years, it’s also been a mental outlet. I tend to stress over even the smallest things, and exercising helps me clear my head. Whether it’s weightlifting, running, or a combination of both, it’s my therapy. I’ve been working out consistently for nearly 20 years—since I was 18—except during the pandemic. Over the years, my routine has evolved, but the core remains the same: balancing physical goals with mental well-being.
A Timeline of My Body
Here are a few shirtless photos over the last two years, taken in the same place for continuity. It’s crazy to see how much it has changed over time.
