Keep
My dad’s oldest brother, my Uncle Keith, was in town for a few days this week and came to visit us last night. I hadn’t seen him in a few years, so it’s always good to catch up with him whenever I can. He’s a writer, like me, though on a much bigger scale: he’s a published author and a retired college professor. He was the exact opposite of my dad in almost every way when my dad was alive. My uncle is calm and studied and diplomatic and much more reserved. My dad was wild and impulsive and a bit irreverent at times. Still, I look at my uncle and I see my dad’s face when he turns at just the right angles. I see his smile when he turns to the left, and I see his eyes when he squints just so. It’s a weird, surreal feeling. I wasn’t close with my dad for the last 15 years or so of his life, but I remember him like the back of my hand from when we were. It was a lovely visit. For so many reasons.

PJ and I were shooting a piece of content for socials yesterday that did not in any way shape or form go according to plan. We couldn’t get the timing right (read: I couldn’t get the timing right) for some reason, and it was a lot harder than I initially thought it was going to be. We ended up running out of time, we felt rushed, and after trying to make it work for 45 minutes, we ended up abandoning the entire thing, so now it will never see the light of day. I don’t know if we’ll give it another shot or not, but I hope we do, because it was going to be really funny!
What’s your Keep & Delete for today?

You gotta do it if it's funny! We all need a bit of comedy every day! Do it! Do it! Do it!
My heart felt so much reading about your uncle, knowing your relationship with your dad wasn’t the best. It’s nice that your uncle provides a glimpse of what was good for you. 💙
It was just a bad day, all your published content is great and the funny stuff is some of the best. I’m with Kyle, give it another shot! 😉
