We sat down to eat tonight at the kitchen island, just the five of us at the farm, and my heart swelled thinking how grateful I am that we were all there. PJ and the kids had been out in the field all evening working together to deliver a lamb: Allan held the phone for the flashlight, Riah sat on the mama sheep so she couldn’t get up during birth, and Anna held all the supplies for PJ. Meanwhile, I ran to the store to get groceries for dinner and immediately started cooking when I got to Holiday House. They all came in from the cold to the smell of sautéed garlic and butter and the sound of Bossa Nova playing, and, in that moment, I don’t think I have ever been happier in my life. We were all in one place, and that’s my favorite place for us all to be. Happy Friday night, dear reader.

I stared at a screen the entire day editing, emailing, and writing. My eyes started to cross before long, and I’m thinking I really need to get some of those blue light glasses that are supposed to help with that.
Thomas, that sounds lovely. You do have a way with words. I got some good housework done this morning and then took the afternoon off to go thrifting. I found a cute little figure of a mouse reading a book to go on my bookshelves. Thrifting was an activity that mom and I enjoyed together over the years. Missing her tonight.

What a lovely evening! You narrated it in a way that it felt like we were there with you, PJ and the kids coming back, excited after delivering the baby goat, you greeting them and listening to their stories, all enjoying the yummy meal… those moments are so magical! So happy for you!
Keep: I took the day off from work. We’re having lots of fun with our friends.
Delete: No delete for today, and that’s a keep in itself.
