A Fitness Journey Update
Starting the year off by documenting where we're at health-wise (and ugh more shirtless photos).
Happy New Year, everybody!!!
How are you feeling? How was your holiday? We took the last two weeks off posting on pretty much everything except our blog, and I have to say, it was so nice. We haven’t taken that much time off from creating content since 2019 when our kids first came to live with us, and the downtime was very welcome. I always start getting burnt out during the last month of the year, which happens to be our busiest month, filled with deadlines and last-minute to-dos. You, too?
Well, after a much welcome break over the holidays, we’re back with a brand new issue of Okay McKay today! It feels good to be back to our regularly scheduled programing, with our routine and schedule starting up again yesterday morning when the kids went back to school. I will admit, though, that I am dragging just a bit. During the break, it wouldn’t be out of the ordinary for us to sleep in until 9am. NINE AM, PEOPLE!!! It was glorious. We were getting 9-10 hours of sleep a night, which hasn’t happened in years. While we were sleeping in, the kids would wake up before us and be upstairs watching TV or playing with their toys, and all was right in the world.
But now, we made the mistake of falling in love with a new show (sharing what it is below) and stayed up way too late watching it, and I’m currently running on 6 hours of sleep. Gotta change that, especially since this issue is about improving our overall health, because we all know, much like needing to drink 15 cups of water a day is good for you, so is getting enough sleep every night.
We wanted to start the year off by documenting where we’re at physically, mentally, and emotionally. To me, it always feels right to begin the year like, to document where we’re at at the start so we can see how far we’ve come (or haven’t come!) at the end.
Yesterday, we took some updated fitness photos to leave here so we can keep track of the progress. I can’t believe it’s already been two and a half months since we last checked in.
Okay! Here we go:
